Do I Have To? 🤢 Yes! Because your mama said they’re good for you!! 1. They can be delicious! Don’t say you hate veggies. You just haven’t found a veggie you like yet or learned how to prepare them. Keep an open, positive mindset. 2. Veggies are nutrient dense with macro and micro-nutrients which your body can burn very efficiently. This increases your metabolism! 3. They fill you up without filling you out! 200 calories of broccoli would fill up a shopping bag! Compare that to the size of 200 calories of donuts or cookies. 4. They keep the body plumbing in shape with all the fiber. 5. Veggies reduce inflammation which is the source of so many chronic diseases. They contain free radical antioxidants to fight cancer. 6. Eating vegetables help reduce cholesterol levels and may lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type-2 diabetes. 7. Lovely veggies can help you relax with sources of sulfur compounds and B vitamins which trigger a dopamine release. Leafy greens also contain magnesium and calcium which promote relaxation. 8. They make you beautiful from the inside out. The phytonutrients in red, orange, and yellow veggies create a glow to your skin, protect from UV rays and premature aging! 9. Vegetables have a high water content which helps you stay hydrated. 10. Veggies make a quick and easy snack at home or on the go. I love to take along a bag of sugar snap peas or sliced salted zucchini. The crunch satisfies that chip craving. . What are your veggie victories and challenges? Let me know in the comments. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing about some veggie super-heroes!
